The Bunn House is a unique luxury vacation home rental and event space, available exclusively to small groups. Enjoy our expansive grounds and meticulous historic renovations, all within walking distance of vibrant downtown Asheville. Our expansive property is also the perfect backdrop for your wedding, small business retreat, or family celebration while offering a quiet, serene retreat. The entire building and surrounding property are 100% non-smoking and non-vaping.
Our History
The Bunn House was built in 1905 by Albert Bunn, a brick manufacturer and contractor from Birmingham, England, who lived here with his wife, Kittie, and three children. His youngest son, Robert D. Bunn, owner of Bunn Antiques in downtown Asheville, inherited the home from his father, and lived here for many years with his wife, Fannie. When we purchased the house in 2013, much of the original structure was retained, including hardwood floors and some of the small architectural details, in order to feature the home’s rich history. We have contrasted these historic aspects with a focus on refined luxury.
Our Carbon Footprint
From the start of our two year renovation of this beautiful 100 year old building, we wanted to be as thoughtful as possible. Our efforts were rewarded formally when we won an award for Adaptive Reuse from the Asheville Preservation Society. We’ve taken many steps to reduce our carbon footprint and reduce use of single use plastics, including:
